What a great group of new friends who came out to Viewpoint Books: Chapter Two on August 31, 2026 for a night of pitching books about peace.
The format was simple. Everyone brought a book that had shaped how they think about peace, conflict, or getting along with people, and made the case for it. A few minutes each. Some pitches were about big ideas. Some were about a single chapter that stuck with somebody years later. There was food, there was overlap, and there were more than a few people writing titles down.
What made it work wasn't the books — it was hearing why each one mattered to the person holding it. That's peacemaking at the kitchen-table level. You learn a lot about someone by what they read and what they underline.

Peace Chalks! We had a perfect day for our first local event on June 6, 2026, creating Chalk Art on the steps of City Hall with so many in our community joining in.
